You know how we always say anything can become a lamp? Well, on Halloween, this takes a whole new dimension. And same goes for custom lampshades. Your creativity should have no limits and with today’s inspirational post, we aim not only to get you in the mood for a spooky Halloween but to also ignite that creative fire and get you to craft awesome new lamps that will scare the bejesus of your party guests.

We love Halloween over here at I Like That Lamp headquarters. It’s an awesome excuse to go nuts with decorations, pull out all the stops on DIY projects and dress up your house in the spooky spirit of Halloween! And boy do we like to throw a costume party. From super heroes to fantastic beings, movie actors and singers to scary monsters, we’re all in for Halloween.

To celebrate this spooky holiday, we searched the internet from top to bottom until we found the lamps that will scare your guests this Halloween. And we all know that you can’t have an awesome party, without the right lighting. Oh, and by the way, Halloween is the time to throw in some colored lights - different colors can impact the way people look. For instance, green light can make people appear older.

Anyway, enough talking, it’s time to get inspired… and spooked!

Cockroaches

If you don’t have that much time to invest in crafting Halloween decorations or if you’re more into practical jokes for Halloween, this lampshade is bound to get you some screams.

To make your own cockroach silhouette lampshade, the easiest way to go is to print and cut out your desired insect shape. Then attach it with glue or double adhesive tape on the interior of the shade. You can also buy cockroach stickers from Amazon and use those to decorate your lampshades.

Here’s another neat idea to customize your lampshade with cockroaches and make your guests shiver with disgust. Use fake roaches and magnets to attach them to your lampshade.

Lamps for Witches

If you’re going with a witch theme for your Halloween party, a lamp will help bewitch your guests. You can go fancy with a vintage, glass lamp, or modern and a bit more laid back with a hand painted colorful lampshade. Or you can choose the easy way out and use witch hats for pendants or lampshades.

Monster Lamps

So, you’re into monsters, and you want everything at your Halloween party to be in theme. Well, lamps and lights around the house need a makeover too. The easiest way to make your scary monster lamp is to look for a monster prop (maybe something like this?) and attach a lightbulb socket. You can use our bottle lamp kit to minimize the need to drill holes through your base.
